Oil level check on Piaggio NRG MC2

I want to check and change the transmission oil on my Piaggio NRG MC2.
This model doesn’t have a dipstick.
How to check the level and how to fill if is necessary.

Thanks,
Florin

Hi Florindo ..
With many scoots its not possible to check the oil level or state of it , besides feel it between the fingers and giving it a visual inspection .

As you propably dont know when the previous owner last changed the oil its better to just replace it for a new bottle .
(wont cost an arm and leg ;))

Bigger 'problem 'is how to get the old oil out .
Dunno if the NRG has a special oil release bolt on the carter , bike like a speedfight hasnt , theres just one bolt for filling and draining there. If it has a drain bolt its easy , just let the old oil drain and fill it up again.
Scoots like Peugeot you have to pull vertikal so its upright on the rear wheel .. hold the rear brake and pull her up , gravity will drain the old oil out then.

I know some people drain the old oil using a larger size hospital syringe with a smal rubber hose on the tip , and suck it out that way .
How much goes in I dont know exactly , maybe u can get that out of the service manual wich you can find in the manual section here .

Thanks for stopping by here at SH ..
kind regards
Henk

Thanks for your answer.
There are 2 plugs on the transmission case on the wheel side. One of them is near the bottom case. This one could be for draining and the other one for filling.
It is a small hole near brake lever, on the user manual for newer NRG model in this place is located the dipstick. I am not sure about the uses of this hole cause is lateral located and cannot check the level from there.
I will use these 2 plugs for draining and filling, I think that I should fill 100cc of oil.

I didn’t find yet the service manual for this Piaggio model, but I still looking for it.
It is not on the manual section.

Regards,
Florin

Hi Florin.
Couldnt find the MC2 version here too , but it got lost in time i suppose (ill keep an eye open for it ) , but as i dont think base of engine changed that much Idid find this info for a origininal NRG ..

Pia advises to change the hub oil every 4000km , 100CC of SAE 80W/90 API gL3 .

There is a dt dd version , mc3 purejet here:
http://www.scooterhulp.com/instructi...ts-manual.html

On Easyparts i did found a parts manual online specially for MC2 ..
http://www.easyparts.nl/choosedrawin...G_MC2_RST.html

and some manuals more purejet MC3 type ;
http://www.scooterhulp.com/instructi...-handboek.html

the easyparts link is very handy ..its a online shop that has many original parts manual accesible per type online , theyre there for many types of scoots !

Regards Henk..
